Job summary

Allied Universal in Ashland, VA is seeking a part-time Security Officer (Unarmed) to patrol and safeguard a technology-focused site. You’ll monitor access points, respond to alarms, and provide excellent customer service to employees and visitors.

The role offers flexible scheduling with day shifts and weekend coverage. Candidates should be 18+ for unarmed roles, with a background in security and the ability to work with computers and tablets. Training and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Alarm panel experience preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Must be 18+ (unarmed) / 21+ (armed) where applicable.
• Background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees and visitors at a technology-focused site.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of interior/exterior areas and deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify visitor/contractor authorization per site procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents and alarms, escalate as needed to emergency services.
• Complete patrol logs and incident reports, communicating security information to leadership.
