Allied Universal in Sterling, VA is hiring a Security Officer (Part Time Unarmed) to safeguard clients across technology, media, and telecom facilities. You will patrol, deter incidents, and deliver professional customer service while maintaining a visible presence and following site protocols.

The role offers flexible shifts (evenings and weekends), a pay rate of $23.11 per hour, and opportunities to use our Claim a Shift platform and grow within a supportive, inclusive team.

Qualifications

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet
• A guard card or license is preferred
• CPR certification is preferred
• Customer service experience is preferred
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Background check per federal/state/local laws
• Drug screen as a condition of employment
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and/or contractors at a technology and media location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of offices, common areas, entry points, parking areas, and the property perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and report unusual activity, hazards, and/or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift handoff communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
