Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Unarmed Security Officer in Norfolk, VA, to safeguard financial-institution clients. You will patrol, monitor access, respond to alarms, and deliver professional customer service while following site protocols.

The role offers flexible shifts (DayTime, Night), with opportunities to grow within a dynamic team. Prior security experience and CPR/guard licenses are preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors at a financial institution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, including entrances, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed by site procedures, and document observations, incidents, and unusual conditions.
• Communicate professionally with employees, customers, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership regarding security-related concerns and daily activities.
