Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer (Unarmed) for Norfolk, VA. You will perform patrols, monitor access, and provide customer service to clients and visitors at a technology, media, and telecom location.

Key responsibilities include reporting incidents, completing logs, and adhering to site policies while maintaining a professional demeanor. Prior guard experience and licensing are preferred, with a drug screen as required by law.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a guard card or license (preferred).
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation will be conducted in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen will be conducted where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws and regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors while following security procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, grounds, parking areas, entry points, and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity; report unauthorized access to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies in a calm, professional manner and document observations.
• Complete activity logs, patrol reports, and incident documentation and communicate to management.
