Job summary

Catapult Learning is seeking part-time tutors to support students in reading, mathematics, and writing at partner schools in the Bronx and Queens. You will advocate, mentor, and guide students using company curricula and materials.

Positions are flexible between year-round and summer programs, with options for part-time or full-time engagement. Training and professional development are provided, along with ongoing leadership support.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (or higher) from an accredited institution; or at least two years of study (48 semester hours / 72 quarter hours).
• Licensed teachers with credentials recognized by the State of NY as properly licensed.
• Must complete an FBI/BCI background check.
• Teaching experience preferred.
• Unwavering belief that all children can learn.
• Ability to navigate online platforms for record keeping and communication.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose learning skill deficits and deliver prescribed instructional methods.
• Consult with school personnel to coordinate services.
• Communicate student progress with parents.
• Deliver prescribed instructional delivery methods per company guidance.
• Attend training and implement instructional models in reading, mathematics, and/or writing.
• Develop and maintain individualized lesson plans.
• Ensure supervision of students during sessions.
• Maintain student forms and files as required by authorities.
• Attend meetings with supervisors, teachers, principals, and parents.
• Maintain inventory of educational materials and supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
