Job summary

Catapult Learning seeks part-time tutors in the Bronx and Queens, NY to provide contracted instructional services in reading, mathematics, and writing. You’ll diagnose deficits, coordinate with school staff, and report progress to families while using company-designed materials.

Positions offer hourly pay between $48 and $53, with opportunities for professional development and ongoing support. Various hours across school settings are available.

Qualifications

• Non-licensed tutors: associate degree (or higher) or at least two years of study (48 sem hours or 72 quarter hours)
• Licensed tutors: NY State properly licensed teacher credentials
• Tutors must complete an FBI/BCI background check
• Teaching experience preferred
• Belief that all children can learn
• Ability to navigate online platforms for record keeping and communication

Responsibilities

• Diagnose learning skill deficits and deliver prescribed instructional methods
• Consult with school personnel to coordinate services for students
• Communicate progress with parents and document meetings
• Deliver prescribed instructional methods as determined by the Company
• Attend trainings and implement instructional models and strategies for reading, math, and/or writing
• Develop and maintain individualized lesson plans
• Ensure supervision of students and safety during sessions
• Maintain student forms and files as required by authorities
• Attend and document meetings with supervisors, teachers, principals, and parents
• Maintain inventory of educational materials and supplies
• Other duties as assigned
