Job summary

Robbinsdale Area Schools is seeking a Tutor Education Assistant for Lakeview Elementary to provide academic support for grades K-5. Seven hours per day at Lakeview, with 6.5 paid hours and 30 minutes unpaid lunch, at $24.03 per hour based on the current Education Assistants agreement.

Qualifications

• Two years of college credits (usually 60 credits in MN), an associate's or higher degree, or a passing score on the ParaPro or Paraeducator Assessment.
• Experience working with students in math and reading.
• Knowledge of strategies to explain content to students.
• Ability to work as part of a team to complete intervention plans for students.
• Able to work well with students, staff and families.
• Excellent observational skills.
• Flexible personality to handle schedule changes.
• Able to attend work regularly and on time.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support in reading and mathematics.
• Assist students in classrooms with skill acquisition and completion of assignments.
• Work with individuals and/or small groups of students in subject areas.
• Coordinate work for students with the teachers.
• Supervise students in outdoors, halls, cafeteria and busing.
• Other duties as assigned.
