Job summary

Robbinsdale Area Schools seeks a Tutor Education Assistant for Lakeview Elementary to provide academic support for grades K-5. Seven hours per day include 6.5 paid hours and 30 minutes of unpaid lunch time, at a rate of $24.03 per hour based on the current collective bargaining agreement for Education Assistants.

The role focuses on reading and mathematics support, assisting students individually or in small groups, and coordinating work with teachers.

Qualifications

• Two years of college credits (60 credits in MN), or an associate degree or higher, or ParaPro/Paraeducator assessment.
• Experience working with students in math and reading.
• Knowledge of strategies to explain content to students.
• Ability to work in a team to complete intervention plans for students.
• Ability to work well with students, staff and families.
• Excellent observational skills.
• Flexible personality to adapt to schedule changes.
• Regular attendance and timely reporting to work.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support in reading and mathematics.
• Assist students in classrooms with skill acquisition and assignments.
• Work with individuals and/or small groups in subject areas.
• Coordinate work for students with the teachers.
• Supervise students in outdoors, halls, cafeteria and busing.
• Other duties as assigned.
