Southside Virginia Community College (SVCC) is seeking a part-time Project Peer Tutor for the Student Support Services (SSS) program, delivering tutoring in math, science, English, and related subjects to support first-generation, low-income students, and students with disabilities.

Under supervision of the Project Director and Advisors, you will provide individualized and small-group tutoring, both in-person and virtually, with TRIO SSS compliance and a focus on equitable student success; hours

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Education, Math, Science, or English or related field.
• Demonstrated proficiency in tutoring or instructional support in educational settings.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with diverse student populations.

Responsabilités

• Provide individualized and small-group tutoring in core subjects.
• Use active learning and evidence-based strategies to promote understanding.
• Adapt tutoring to diverse learning styles and needs.
• Maintain records of sessions and student progress; communicate with advisors.
