Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

Under the supervision of the Coordinator/Counselor of the Student Support Services Program, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:

Responsibilities

• Collaborate and follow instructions as delegated by the Coordinator/Counselor or other Student Support Services Program (SSSP) staff.
• Communicate frequently with Coordinator/Counselor and/or other program staff regarding student progress and performance.
• Demonstrate an understanding and acceptance of student differences (diversity).
• Maintain proper records & documentation and confidentiality of information.
• Assess tutee status to determine areas of strengths/weaknesses.
• Schedule and conduct tutorial sessions, either one-on-one or small group tutoring.
• Maintain and document contact with assigned tutees.
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times and be a positive role model for students.
• Attend scheduled meetings, training sessions, workshops, seminars designed to enhance tutor/tutee experience.
• Assist Coordinator/Counselor with detailed data collection, program reports, and other reporting activities.
• Serve as mentor for Student Support Services Program participants.
• Plan and conduct workshop sessions, as directed by the Coordinator/Counselor.

Required License or Certification
