TRIO Student Support Services Program Peer Tutor
Under the supervision of the Coordinator/Counselor of the Student Support Services Program, the incumbent will:
- Communicate frequently with Coordinator and/or other program staff regarding student progress and performance.
- Demonstrate an understanding and acceptance of student differences (diversity).
- Maintain proper records & documentation and confidentiality of information.
- Assess tutee status to determine areas of strengths/weaknesses.
- Schedule and conduct tutorial sessions, either one‑on‑one or small group tutoring.
- Maintain and document contact with assigned tutees.
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times and be a positive role model for students.
- Attend scheduled meetings, training sessions, workshops, seminars designed to enhance tutor/tutee experience.
- Other duties as directed by the Coordinator/Counselor.
Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Be flexible, enthusiastic, and friendly.
- Have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
- Classified as a junior or senior.
- Be able to provide tutorial services for three or more subject/content areas.
