Job summary

City of Winchester is seeking a Part-Time Transit Dispatcher to cover Saturdays 8:30 am to 5:15 pm, with occasional weekday shifts as needed. You will deliver reliable, courteous service and support riders and field staff.

Key duties include monitoring radio traffic, coordinating routes, assigning drivers and vehicles, and using dispatch software and mapping tools to optimize operations. Strong customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 3+ years in customer service/administrative work.
• Public transportation experience preferred.

We're hiring a Part-Time Transit Dispatcher to work Saturdays 8:30 am to 5:15 pm with the occasional weekday shift as needed.

• Provide excellent customer service to external and internal customers, vendors, and partner agencies
• Monitor two-way radio traffic and respond to operator inquiries regarding traffic, detours, road conditions, and passenger issues
• Perform scheduling and routing functions, coordinating daily routes, assigning drivers and vehicles, and maximizing service efficiency
• Monitor service efficiency in real time and participate in or lead training for dispatching procedures when necessary
• Use multiple software programs, mapping tools, and dispatch platforms to ensure accurate and efficient service

Educations and Experience:

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required with at least three years of experience in customer service and administrative functions. Public Transportation experience is preferred.

Possession of a valid and appropriate driver's license.
