Job summary

Joliet Junior College is seeking a Clerk, Testing to provide clerical, proctoring, intake, placement and assessment services for ESL, ABE, and ASE students across multiple site locations such as Romeoville, City Center, and Morris Education Center.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years general office experience.
• Strong computer and Internet skills.
• Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and assistance to visitors, students, and staff.
• Assist students with registration forms and determine appropriate testing.
• Complete registration procedures including intake, goals, and class assignment.
• Administer placement tests in paper/pencil or online formats.
• Place students in appropriate classes based on test scores.
• Coordinate with Adult Education staff to ensure proper testing and placement.
• Assist with online assessment testing at campus and offsite locations.
• Maintain accurate records of student testing information.
• Administer and score pre/post-testing for Adult Education students.
• Contact students about class start and registration dates.
• Conduct orientations for new students.
• Collaborate with colleagues and vendors to accomplish tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
