Job summary

Tidewater Community College's Chesapeake Campus seeks a part-time Testing Center Specialist to support core testing functions, assist students and staff, and ensure smooth daily operations. The role requires flexibility with hours including occasional evenings and weekends, and a strong focus on customer service and accuracy.

The ideal candidate will handle Virginia placement and industry tests, coordinate scheduling, and maintain testing resources while collaborating with multiple campus

Qualifications

• Knowledge of effective customer service in person and online
• Ability to communicate clearly with a diverse public
• Ability to work independently and with teams
• Proficiency in managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting
• Comfort using basic office software and Zoom for virtual meetings

Responsibilities

• Administer comprehensive testing and support testing functions (Virginia Placement Test, industry tests, makeup exams, online/hybrid exams)
• Support Student Affairs units as needed
• Participate in registration activities
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders
• Answer inquiries via phone, email, and in person promptly
• Maintain daily testing center operations and prepare materials for appointments
• Obtain necessary credentials to administer various tests
• Other duties as assigned
