Job summary

You will assist students, faculty, and staff with basic computer questions, help maintain labs, imaging and deploying equipment, and support with inventory and setup tasks.

Qualifications

• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic knowledge of computers, common software applications, and Internet use.
• Willingness and ability to learn new technology, tools, and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively and provide courteous, professional customer service.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Ability to follow established procedures and maintain confidentiality when working with technology and customer information.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to perform basic Internet research and create or edit documents.
• Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Ability to physically move and handle computer equipment, including under desks, up to 50+ pounds.
• Must maintain required academic standing to remain eligible for student employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide front‑line support and oversight of the computer lab during operating hours.
• Assist students, faculty, and staff with basic computer, printer, account, and technology‑related questions.
• Monitor the computer lab and ensure equipment, workspaces, and resources are available and functioning.
• Answer questions and direct users to appropriate resources in person or by phone.
• Assist OTS technicians with basic troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network issues.
• Assist with preparing, configuring, imaging, and deploying computers and other technology equipment; training will be provided.
• Assist technicians with installing, transporting, securing, and cable‑managing equipment in classrooms, labs, and offices.
• Assist with inventory, labeling, tracking, and organization of technology equipment and peripherals.
• Assist with preparation and organization of equipment for surplus, salvage, moves, and other activities.
• Maintain organized, clean, and safe work areas, including benches and storage.
• Assist with receiving, organizing, and maintaining bench stock and technology supplies.
• Maintain basic records of work performed and equipment handled.
• Assist OTS staff with customer‑facing technical support in lab, classroom, and office environments.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
