Job summary

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking a Part-Time Tutor/Assistant for the Medical Lab to support instructional labs in Las Vegas. This role involves assisting with equipment setup, inventory, and safety protocols under supervision.

Responsibilities include helping instructors assess student competency, maintaining lab organization, and ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials in line with OSHA guidelines. Evening hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum preferred credential in clinical laboratory work.
• Experience assisting instructors with lab activities and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with the use of medical lab equipment and instructional materials in the medical labs.
• Assist instructors to check off students on their assigned clinical competency skills check.
• Instruct/assist students with the protocols and rationale for skills being practiced.
• Instruct/assist students with the proper use and function of clinical equipment.
• Supply, equip, and maintain each lab to insure proper organization in the clinical science labs.
• Maintain lab supplies, inventory and records.
• Dispose of hazardous waste materials.
• Monitor condition of equipment.
• Adhere to OSHA Guidelines and lab safety and security.
