Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Part-Time Patient Procedure Scheduler at Lake Forest Hospital in the Neurosurgery clinic. The role involves scheduling surgical and pre-operative procedures, patient registration, and communicating financial responsibilities.

Schedule is 28 hours per week: Monday 8:30A-5P, Tuesday 8:30A-5P, Thursday 8:30A-5P, Friday 8A-12P. Surgery scheduling experience is preferred and EMR familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years healthcare experience required.
• Experience in a customer service role required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Previous experience with an electronic medical records system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Registers and schedules patients for surgical and pre-operative procedures.
• Inform patients of their financial responsibilities.
• Provide patients with surgical and procedural information and instructions as appropriate.
• Obtains and/or facilitates pre-certification as required.
• Maintains calendars and schedules related to surgical and pre-operative procedures.
• Answers all incoming patient inquiries.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
