Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Procedure Scheduler at the Glenview Infusion clinic in Illinois. This full-time role is 40 hours per week, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:30am to 4:00pm, and involves scheduling surgical and pre-operative procedures.

Responsibilities include registering and scheduling patients, verifying insurance, obtaining pre-certifications, instructing patients, maintaining calendars, answering inquiries, and cross-training as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years healthcare experience.
• Experience in a customer service role.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree and EMR experience.

Responsibilities

• Registers and schedules patients for surgical and pre-operative procedures.
• Inform patients of their financial responsibilities.
• Provide patients with surgical and procedural information and instructions as appropriate.
• Obtains and/or facilitates pre-certification as required.
• Maintains calendars and schedules related to surgical and pre-operative procedures.
• Answers all incoming patient inquiries.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
