Job summary

Germanna Community College is seeking a Part-time Supplemental Instruction (SI) Program Assistant at the Locust Grove ACE. The role involves arranging tutoring, maintaining records, and coordinating with the Nursing Department to ensure academic remediation is available.

The SI Program Assistant will also manage online Zoom coverage, create attendance spreadsheets, promote the SI program, and assist with ACE events and SI Leader training throughout the year.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and judgment skills.
• Knowledge of Germanna Community College academic and other student support services.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher Programs.
• Familiarity with Google Apps, Canvas, Zoom, and/or similar forms of educational technology.
• Must have a general understanding of courses taught at Germanna
• Must possess patience and a strong service orientation.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment
• Must have the ability to work independently
• Must have good analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Greet students in person, over the phone, or via Zoom and arrange tutoring appointments.
• Maintain office files and attend to clerical duties.
• Register nursing students for workshops and coordinate with Nursing Department for remediation.
• Create and maintain spreadsheets, files, and databases for reports.
• Disseminate ACE promotional materials and assist with events.
• Support SI Leaders with surveys and training throughout the year.
