Job summary

Germanna Community College is seeking a Part-time Supplemental Instruction (SI) Program Assistant at the Locust Grove Campus to coordinate academic support and tutor appointments. The role greets students, arranges tutoring, and directs them to ACE resources and Brainfuse.

The incumbent will also support ACE Online Zoom room, maintain files, register nursing students for workshops, and liaise with the Nursing Department to ensure remediation is arranged.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and judgment skills.
• Familiarity with Germanna Community College academic and other student support services.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher.
• Experience with Google Apps, Canvas, and Zoom.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment.
• Patience and strong service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Arrange tutoring appointments on campus or online.
• Greet students and assess needs, via in person, phone or Zoom.
• Register nursing students for workshops.
• Maintain office files, spreadsheets, and databases for data retrieval.
• Collect and analyze end-of-semester grade data from SI-supported courses.
• Coordinate with Nursing Department for academic remediation.
• Promote the SI program to students and faculty.
• Provide feedback and scheduling support to SI Leaders; organize room bookings.
• Assist ACE promotional materials distribution and event planning.
