Job summary

Wichita State University seeks a part-time student assistant for TRIO Student Support Services on the Wichita campus. You will provide weekly tutoring and assist mentors and staff under supervision.

The role focuses on supporting first-generation and low-income students, helping them build study skills and confidence, and enhancing communication and leadership abilities during your time on campus.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a WSU student with at least 6 credit hours.
• Must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Must earn a B- or better in courses tutored.

Responsibilities

• Attend Tutor Training sessions at the start and end of each semester.
• Check your email regularly unless notified otherwise.
• Provide weekly tutoring in at least one subject to assigned students.
• Assist in developing positive study habits and learning strategies.
• Provide regular feedback to SSS Academic Advisors on student progress.
• Submit Weekly Progress Assessments and web time sheets by the due date.
