Job summary

Family Dollar in St. Matthews, SC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, drive customer service, and develop the team.

You will assist with merchandising, daily store activities, opening and closing procedures, processing directives, and training Store Associates to uphold company standards while maintaining a clean, well-stocked store and a safe, welcoming environment for customers and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties including standing, walking, and bending
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives and store communications
• Maintain promotional storefront fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, payroll/scheduling/cash handling, and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked and clean store and stockroom
• Protect company assets, including cash
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures and train store associates
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Keep store clean and well-maintained, including bathrooms and floors
• Perform other duties as assigned
