Job summary

Family Dollar in Columbia, SC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily functions, help customers, organize merchandise, and maintain inventories and displays.

The role includes opening/closing duties, processing directives, payroll and scheduling support, and maintaining a clean, safe store environment while supervising and training store associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, bending, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain fixtures, displays, and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, handling damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Keep store areas well-stocked, clean, and presentable.
