Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a resourceful, driven, adaptable, and customer‑focused team member to work varying or set schedules on a weekly basis year round as a part‑time Supervisor.

The Supervisor will provide assistance to the management team, oversee team members within a department or store, and act in the absence of upper management while delivering outstanding customer service to students, faculty, and the campus community.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in a retail setting preferred.
• Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age to be considered for employment.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Outstanding customer service skills to match customers to products that meet their needs.
• Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills needed.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Spend majority of time on selling floor coaching and modeling Wow customer service.
• Train and oversee daily work activity of team members in one or more departments.
• Be knowledgeable about department/store operations; enforce loss prevention procedures.
• Ensure the area is maintained, merchandised, and store is operationally sound.
• Assist in daily store operation and act as Manager‑on‑Duty in absence of manager or at satellite locations.
