Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. The role involves assisting with daily store activities, merchandising, and ensuring excellent customer experiences in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, processing directives, tracking payroll and scheduling, and maintaining clean, organized sales floors and stockrooms.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height.
• Excellent written and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays’ effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized to company standards.
• Protect store assets, including cash, and ensure security procedures.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates under Store Manager guidance.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful store environment.
