Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist in daily store activities, organize merchandise, and help maintain stockrooms and sales floors in accordance with company standards.

The role emphasizes strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with duties including payroll, scheduling, cash deposits, and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks and repetitive lifting

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize, transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communicate related store activities
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all store assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure associates follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe environment with professional interactions with customers and staff
• Ensure cleanliness of the store, bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall neatness
• Other duties as assigned
