Job summary

Family Dollar in Madison, Maine is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities and help maintain a well-stocked floor.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and the capacity to lift up to 55 lbs. Part-time hours with opportunities for growth within store leadership are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; ability to read, interpret, and discuss operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform lifting and movement tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store operations and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record-keeping.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures and ensure staff compliance.
• Support Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Keep store clean and presentable; manage bathrooms, floors, trash, and restocking.
• Other duties as assigned.
