Job summary

BoxLunch & Hot Topic is seeking a Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 2 to help lead our civic-minded, pop culture driven brand. You’ll support the Store Manager in achieving store objectives with sales targets, recruiting, and development.

You’ll engage customers, promote new products, manage operations, and build a loyal team while aligning with philanthropy and community involvement.

Qualifications

• At least 1-2 years of retail store management experience.
• Strong communication, recruiting, operations, and team development skills.
• Proactive leaders with time management and customer focus.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED; degree welcomed.
• Retail is fast-paced; able to adapt to curveballs.
• Able to navigate the store, merchandise, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Support Store Manager in achieving the sales plan and/or comp sales goals.
• Help recruit, develop, and retain a collaborative, passionate team.
• Promote new products and promotions, and enable BOPIS and curbside pickup.
• Provide leadership for an operationally sound store, balancing ops and customer-first selling.
• Monitor shrink, payroll hours, and associate schedules.
• Communicate with retail leadership and HQ on trends and feedback.
• Run sales reports and use data to guide strategy.
• Merchandise the store using planograms and launch promos on time.
• Develop high-performing, customer-focused associates.
