Job summary

The Children’s Place in Portage, Michigan is seeking a Store Lead to support the Store Leadership Team. You will handle cash-wrap operations, opening/closing, and lead on duty to drive customer experience and store profitability.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of retail experience, strong communication skills, and a customer-focused mindset. This is a part-time position requiring flexibility, including weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of retail experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing talent through training of associates, including coaching conversations.
• Partners with Store Manager to address performance concerns with associates.
• Support and participate in all company training and development initiatives.
• Foster a positive work environment and provide direct, objective feedback in a timely manner.
• Assess performance and provide feedback daily and during annual reviews.
• Motivate and inspire associates to build brand loyalty and a positive store environment.
• Model, encourage, and demonstrate exceptional customer service on the sales floor and maintain store standards.
• Represent the company in a professional and positive manner.
• Support management to maximize productivity through operational knowledge and customer service, and participate in key store initiatives.
• Participate in Leader on Duty (LOD) program to deliver an exceptional customer experience and drive profitability while managing payroll.
• Process payroll weekly.
• Modify schedule based on business climate.
• Maintain a clean, organized stockroom and adhere to policies.
• Ensure CRE Standards & Safety requirements are met.
