Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Newport News, VA to help with store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, supervise and train Store Associates, and ensure a clean, welcoming shopping environment.

The role emphasizes high-energy teamwork, strong communication, and adherence to company policies while supporting the Store Manager in meeting operational goals and delivering great guest experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties as described.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing, transferring merchandise, and maintaining seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Ensure asset protection and loss prevention measures.
• Support in training and developing Store Associates and supervising staff.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and safe environment for customers and associates.
