Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team growth.

You will assist with daily store activities, help customers, and ensure merchandise is well organized and maintained on the sales floor and stockroom. Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, enforcing company policies, supervising and training store staff, and maintaining a safe, clean environment while supporting managers with payroll, scheduling, and loss

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and related communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all store assets including cash.
• Adhere to policies, safety guidelines, and procedures.
• Help store manager supervise, train, and develop associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness, bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
