Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in the United States to help with store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities and support a positive, high-energy work environment.

You will supervise, train, and develop Store Associates, ensure cleanliness and safety, manage merchandising and stock movement, and help with opening and closing procedures while upholding company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, walking, bending, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Support customers with a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize merchandise and transfer from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and store fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect company assets, including store cash; follow safety policies.
• Assist Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure store areas are neat, tidy, and bathrooms are cleaned and restocked; remove trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
