Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC in Arden, NC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, service customers, and develop team members. You will assist with merchandise placement, scheduling, payroll processes, and loss prevention to maintain a well-organized store.

Ideal candidates have store management experience in retail or similar environments, and possess strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while upholding safety and company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks (walking, standing, bending).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restocked, and presentable; handle cleaning tasks as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
