Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily operations, customer service, and team development at our Arden, North Carolina location. You will assist with scheduling, merchandising, and ensuring store standards.

You will lead a small team, help open and close the store, train associates, and maintain a positive, safe shopping environment while delivering friendly, efficient service to customers and associates alike.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe store environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
