Job summary

EmergencyMD is seeking part-time AmeriCorps STEM Specialists in Beaver County for the 2026-2027 school year. Positions are available at Belknap, Milford, and Minersville Elementary Schools. Specialists will assist with informal STEM education at the Boys & Girls Club for 12-15 hours weekly.

The role offers a living allowance of $4,800 and an Education Award of $1,565.08 upon completion. Ideal candidates have experience with children and a high school diploma. A valid State Driver's License is required.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age.
• United States citizen or legal permanent resident.
• Meet the requirements set by the Corporation for National and Community Service.
• Preference given to individuals with educational or work experience related to STEM.

Responsibilities

• Lead STEM lessons during the allocated time each week.
• Maintain records of lesson plans and track data.
• Build positive relationships with youth and families.
• Supervise and ensure safety during activities.
• Monitor and evaluate program services and activities.

Skills

Experience working with children

Knowledge of youth development

Ability to work with school and general public

CPR and First Aid Certifications

Valid State Driver’s License

Motivated to work with youth

Plan and implement quality programs
