Job summary

Boys & Girls Club Of Utah County invites applicants for 1 AmeriCorps STEM Specialist to support Spring Creek Elementary in Provo for 2026-2027. This part-time role offers meaningful hands-on STEM instruction and service hours within a respected youth program.

As an AmeriCorps member you will teach, track youth outcomes, complete timesheets, and contribute to program development while earning a living allowance and an Education Award upon completion.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age.
• United States citizen or legal permanent resident.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Meet the requirements set by the Corporation for National and Community Service.
• Experience in working with children.
• Knowledge of youth development.
• Motivated youth and manage behavior problems.
• Ability to work with the school and general public.
• Plan and implement quality programs for youth.
• Organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
• CPR and First Aid Certifications may be required.
• Valid State Driver's License
• Preference will be given to individuals with educational or work experience related to science, technology, engineering, math, teaching, and/or education.

Responsibilities

• Provide STEM education; Lead STEM lessons during the weekly time allocated.
• Maintain records of lesson plans and track data for the number of students served.
• Complete weekly timesheets and a monthly report.
• Evaluate progress of youth served using surveys and rubrics.
• Build positive relationships with youth, families, school staff, and teammates.
• Promote and stimulate program participation; Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
• Ensure members are encouraged to participate in a variety of program areas/activities and receive instruction and feedback to develop skills.
• Demonstrate leadership to assure conduct, safety, and development of members.
• Effectively implement and administer programs, services, and activities for all members and visitors.
• Monitor and evaluate program services and activities.
• Oversee member safety, program quality, and appearance of the organization at all times.
• Supervise and ensure safety during indoor and outdoor activities (rain or shine).
• Ensure a productive work environment by participating in weekly organization staff meetings.
• May participate in special programs and/or events.
• Participate in weekly staff meetings and all grant required training.
