Job summary

Phillips Exeter Academy is seeking a part-time Central Heating Plant Operator in Exeter, NH. You will support the operation of the CHP, monitor steam generation, and maintain logs. The role requires 2nd shift availability, Saturday and Sunday, with potential summer work as needed.

Experience with building automation systems and CMMS is preferred. Candidates should be able to lift and climb as needed and work independently in a campus setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, some college helpful.
• HVAC field training required; building automation systems preferred.
• Experience with steam plants and building automation systems is valued.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily operations on steam generation and related equipment.
• Monitor and operate steam generation equipment and auxiliaries.
• Analyze and control manual and automated systems.
• Stand boiler plant watch and perform firefighter duties as needed.
• Record pressures, temperatures, and fuel levels; maintain logs.
• Record temps and pressures; monitor water levels and system status.
• Operate ice rink equipment; monitor ammonia and brine temps.
• Use computers, PLCs, meters, and hand tools for operations.
• Utilize CMMS to receive, document, and complete work orders.
• Note defects and wear in CMMS and report as needed.
• Monitor BAS alarms and prioritize responses.
• Be available on-campus for inspections/maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
