The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a part-time Central Heating Plant Operator to oversee daily operations of the campus heating plant during the 2nd shift (2pm–10pm), Saturdays and Sundays from September to April.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; some college helpful
• HVAC training required; building automation systems experience preferred
• Experience with computer-based controls and building automation systems ideal
• Experience in steam plant operation or maintenance advantageous
• Preferably licensed Stationary Engineer or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Operate steam generation and related equipment as part of CHP operations
• Monitor and control systems; log pressures, temperatures, and water levels
• Maintain logs; document fuel use and system performance
• Stand watch and perform duties as required
• Respond to alarms and coordinate withFacilities for maintenance
