Rutgers University Correctional Health Care is seeking a Part Time Staff Nurse for the Southwoods State Prison in Bridgeton, NJ. The nurse will provide nursing care with a primary focus on ambulatory care for inmates within the New Jersey Department of Corrections.

Responsibilities include nursing assessments, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and leading or supporting care in various housing and clinic settings.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• CPR Certification.
• License to practice in the State of New Jersey.
• Driver's License and own vehicle or reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect nursing care to meet residents' physiological, psychosocial, and emotional needs.
• Performs assessments in initial intake, health care unit, emergency situations, and clinics.
• Collaborates with health care professionals and security officers in a correctional setting.
• Identifies inmate-centered goals and nursing objectives and implements prescribed interventions.
• Plans nursing care by assessing resident-patient needs and initiating appropriate care.
• As team leader or charge nurse, delegates duties and guides care by others.
