Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect nursing care to meet physiological, psychosocial and emotional needs of residents within the correctional system.
• Performs assessments in initial intake, health care units, and emergency situations.
• Collaborates with health care professionals and security officers in a correctional environment.
• Identifies patient goals and implements prescribed nursing interventions.
• Plans care by assessing needs and initiating appropriate referrals.
• As team leader or charge nurse, delegates duties and guides care delivery.
