Rutgers University Correctional Health Care is seeking a Full Time Staff Nurse at the New Jersey State Prison in Trenton. The Staff Nurse utilizes the nursing process to meet health care needs with ambulatory care focus for inmates within the correctional system.

Duties include assessments across intake areas, health care units, and emergencies. Works with health care professionals and security officers to provide comprehensive care; inclusive of planning patient care with timely referrals.

Formación

• RN license to practice in New Jersey.
• CPR Certification.
• Valid Driver’s License is required. Must possess own vehicle or alternative means of transportation from one site to another

Responsabilidades

• Provides direct and indirect nursing care to meet physiological, psychosocial and emotional needs of inmates across age groups within the correctional system.
• Performs assessments in initial intake, health care unit for sick call, emergencies, and housing settings.
• Works with health care professionals and security officers in a correctional environment.
• Identifies inmate-centered goals and nursing interventions and implements prescribed plans.
• As team leader or charge nurse, delegates duties and guides care provision based on staff capabilities.
