Job summary

Rutgers University Correctional Health Care is seeking a Part Time Staff Nurse for the Southwoods State Prison in Bridgeton, NJ. The Staff Nurse provides nursing care to inmates under established protocols and collaborates with health care professionals and security officers in a correctional setting.

Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with NJ license, CPR certification, and a valid NJ driver’s license. Preferred: BSN and 1 year of correctional experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education and Experience: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with a license to practice in New Jersey.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect nursing care to inmates (18–64) and geriatrics (65+) within the correctional system.
• Works with health care professionals and security officers; follows nursing protocols.
• Acts as a team leader as assigned and participates in education for inmates and staff.
