Rutgers University Correctional Health Care is seeking a Part Time Staff Nurse for Northern State Prison in Newark, NJ. The nurse uses the nursing process to address ambulatory care needs for inmates within the correctional system.

Key duties include direct and indirect nursing care, assessments across units, and collaboration with other health professionals and security officers to ensure safe, effective care. Onsite, day shift, 20 hours per week.

Formación

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• License to practice in the State of New Jersey.
• CPR Certification required.
• Valid Driver’s License required. Must possess own vehicle or alternative means of transportation from one site to another.
• Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) or its equivalent (preferred).
• Minimum of one year of experience in a correctional setting (preferred).

Responsabilidades

• Provides direct and indirect nursing care to meet physiological, psychosocial and emotional needs of residents within the correctional system.
• Performs assessments of resident-patients in various settings including initial intake, health care unit, and infirmary.
• Collaborates with health care professionals and security staff in a correctional environment.
• Identifies patient goals and implements prescribed nursing interventions and solutions.
• Plans nursing care by identifying patient needs and initiating referrals per policies.
• As team leader or charge nurse, delegates duties to others and guides care delivery.

Educación

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing

Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) or its equivalent
