Job summary

Lone Star College-University Park is seeking a PT Specialist IV to support at-risk students through the Early Alert and Success Connections programs. You will serve as a contact for the Retention department, manage data, and collaborate with faculty to connect students with available resources.

This role emphasizes proactive outreach, training staff, and maintaining current knowledge of campus resources to improve student success throughout the semester.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily operations and act as general point-of-contact for the Retention department.
  • Enter, track and maintain data, documents, spreadsheets and databases.
  • Work one-on-one with at-risk students identified through the Early Alert Program to assess needs and refer them to resources.
  • Market and provide Success Connections and Early Alert program training to faculty and staff.
  • Research and maintain up-to-date knowledge of available resources and services.
  • Assist with research, analysis and evaluation of programs, and create reports with recommendations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Description
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The PT Specialist IV will assist Lone Star College studentsidentified as ¿at-risk¿ through the Early Alert Program. Theposition will also provide crucial support to the SuccessConnections Program through contact and communication withprospective and enrolled students.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Assist with daily operations and act as generalpoint-of-contact for the Retention department
  2. Enter, track and maintain a variety of data, documents,spreadsheets and databases
  3. Work one-on-one with ¿at-risk¿ students identified through theEarly Alert Program to assess needs and refer them to availableresources/services; continuously reach out and monitor studentneeds throughout the semester
  4. Market and provide Success Connections and Early Alert programtraining to faculty and staff
  5. Actively research and maintain up-to-day knowledge of allavailable resources and services
  6. Assist with research, analysis and evaluation of program,creation of reports and presentation of findings and suggestionsfor program improvements
  7. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties asassigned

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably todo the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending;carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; ordriving an automobile. No special physical demands are required toperform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in aMicrosoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other generaloffice equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimalexposure to safety hazards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related workexperience
Salary

Hourly Pay Rate is $16.66
