Job summary

Lone Star College is seeking a Part-Time Specialist IV, Call Center to serve as the first contact for students and others needing Admissions, Advising, Registration, and Business Office guidance. You will guide customers through self-service options and resolve inquiries.

The role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and the ability to work non-traditional hours, including weekends or holidays as needed. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Answer inbound calls and troubleshoot student center to resolve inquiries about Admissions, Advising, Registration and Business Office functions
  • Triage student accounts to provide callers with completing Admissions and Business Office requirements
  • Educate students on how to navigate their student center
  • Call back and make outbound calls to students needing additional assistance
  • Create Service Now Tickets for changes required on student accounts
  • Perform other reasonable, related duties as assigned

Job Description
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Part-Time Specialist IV, Call Center functions as a firstresponse access point for all students. He or She receives inboundcalls from faculty, staff, community members and students from allLone Star College campuses that need assistance with Admissionsissues, updating student account, Registration processes, Advisinginformation and Business Office functions. He or She providesinformation, direction and step by step instruction to educatestudents on self-service modules.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Answer all inbound calls and troubleshoot student center toresolve student inquiries regarding the Admissions process,Advising info, Registration requirements and Business Officefunctions as well as general inquires
  2. Triage student accounts to provide caller with completingAdmissions and business Office requirements
  3. Educate students on how to navigate their student center
  4. Call back and make outbound calls to students who requireadditional assistance
  5. Create Service Now Tickets for changes required on studentaccount to the appropriate department
  6. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties asassigned

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably todo the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending;carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; ordriving an automobile. No special physical demands are required toperform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in aMicrosoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other generaloffice equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed tocarry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimalexposure to safety hazards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related workexperience, or an equivalent combination of education andexperience
Salary

Hourly Pay Rate is $16.66.
