Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE: The PT Specialist III is responsible for providing computer lab assistance to college students, directing students to library resource materials and open computer lab, creating Student ID cards, checking in/out books and videos for students, administering TSI and online exams, and monitoring students throughout the duration of exams. He or She sorts and distributes mail, answers phone calls, and responds to routine questions. He or She maintains supplies and forms needed for daily operation.

  • Provide testing instructions/ information to students and faculty in person, by e-mail, and by phone
  • Operate a variety of equipment, such as a personal computer, printer photocopier and scanner
  • Create Student ID cards
  • Direct students to library resource materials and open computer lab
  • Check in/out books and videos for students
  • Maintain supplies and forms needed for daily operation
  • Assist students with printing in the library
  • Assist students with using the research databases

Physical Abilities

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

Work Schedule And Conditions
  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
Salary

Hourly Pay Rate is 15.60.
