Job summary

University of Minnesota is seeking an on-site Event Supervisor to manage Gopher Spaces events, coordinating with security, parking, catering, operations, and guides to ensure smooth execution. You will serve as the point-person for event staff and handle onsite needs, safety, and communications.

This part-time role requires strong customer service, leadership, quick decision-making, and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Must display strong interpersonal and leadership ability
  • Able to make decisions quickly, follow protocols/procedures and handle adverse situations professionally
  • Detail-oriented, organized and a proactive problem-solver
  • Ability to carry/lift up to 30 lbs., climb stairs
  • Available to work nights and weekends
  • High School Diploma
  • Prior supervisory and event management experience preferred

About the Job

Event Supervisors will serve as the on-site manager for select Gopher Spaces special events. Oversee the use of the facility during the event and serve as the point-person for all event staff and needs. Supervisory duties include -

  • Coordinate with Special Events staff to become well-informed with details for scheduled events

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $17.00 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
