Job summary

The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, is seeking an Event Supervisor to serve as on-site manager for select Gopher Spaces events. You will oversee facility use, coordinate with security, parking, catering, operations, and tour guides to ensure smooth execution.

You will lead event staff, handle questions, enforce policies and safety procedures, and prepare post-event reports. A High School Diploma is required; previous supervisory/event management experience is preferred; evening and weekend

• Strong interpersonal and leadership ability.
• Able to make decisions quickly, follow protocols/procedures and handle adverse situations professionally.
• Detail-oriented, organized and a proactive problem-solver.
• Ability to carry/lift up to 30 lbs., climb stairs.
• Available to work nights and weekends.
• High School Diploma
• Prior supervisory and event management experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Special Events staff to become well-informed with details for scheduled events.
• Communicate effectively with all groups involved in the successful execution of the event (security, parking, catering, operations, tour guides, etc.).
• Work alongside facility operations staff to determine additional needs prior to the start of the event, assure proper set-up, security and access needs.
• Handle customer questions and concerns in a professional and upbeat manner.
• Become familiar with facility policies/procedures and safety protocols.
• Provide post-event reports.
