Acceleration Academies is hiring a Special Education Teacher to serve as the primary instructional resource for Graduation Candidates, delivering competency-based content and guiding students toward graduation and post-secondary success.

The role supports personalized learning with a collaborative team, offering academic, social-emotional, and career-oriented support, all within a part-time schedule up to 30 hours per week. Strong communication and data-informed instruction are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree required; Masters' preferred.
• Licensure: Washington 6-12 educator license with ESE/Special Education endorsement required.
• Experience: 2+ years of teaching experience, high school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver competency-based content and support personalized learning for Graduation Candidates.
• Create and monitor Personalized Learning Plans tailored to each student.
• Provide academic, social-emotional, and career-oriented support and advocacy.
• Assess progress with formative and summative assessments and adjust instruction.
• Use data to inform instructional decisions and communicate progress to teams.
• Contribute to IEP/ESL accommodations and participate in related meetings.
• Deliver targeted remediation and enrichment for individuals or small groups.
• Collaborate on academy initiatives and participate in events.
