Job summary

Minnetonka Public Schools seeks a paraprofessional to support and monitor individualized instruction for special education students in 1:1 or small groups. Responsibilities include assisting with self-care tasks, operating assistive devices, recording data, and participating in IEP and staff conferences.

A Personal Care Assistant Training certification is required; the position is 3.25 hours/day, 184 days/year and not eligible for benefits.

Qualifications

• Must meet highly qualified status per MDE from day 1.
• Personal Care Assistant Training certification must be completed during pre-employment.
• Experience supporting student instruction in classroom preferred.
• Knowledge of behavior modification strategies including restitution and resiliency.
• Ability to write observational data, maintain logs, and track behavior charts.

Responsibilities

• Support and monitor individualized instruction for special education students in 1:1 or small groups in regular and special education classrooms.
• Assist students with self-care tasks and use of assistive devices; operate and supervise equipment.
• Apply student management techniques and monitor behaviors; participate in conferences and meetings as requested.
• Record concise observational data, maintain daily logs, and monitor attendance.
• Participate in district training programs for paraprofessionals and support third-party reimbursement tasks as needed.
